Sara Craig-Scheckman manages all facets of the substantive grant-making process, and provides the Foundation with leadership and strategic vision. Sara directs the Foundation with a hands-on, grassroots approach, partnering with youth serving organizations throughout Routt County to support and enhance impactful youth development programming. Sara brings to the Foundation over 25 years of work in the non-profit field of youth advocacy. Her passion for community, strong professional development and team building skills also enhance the Foundation work. Sara most enjoys spending time with her family, husband Michael, parents Kathy and Jerry Craig, their four children, and three chocolate Labradors, Tucker, Isabel and Cooper. Her interests also include international travel, outdoor sports, and reading.

Michael Craig-Scheckman has been in the investment business for over 40 years and has over 25 years’ experience in the distressed mortgage-backed/asset-backed (MBS/ABS) field. Michael is President and Owner of Deer Park Road Corporation (DPRC). He has operated DPRC as an investment advisor, focused exclusively on deeply discounted fixed income securities, from July 2003 until the present. Michael is the lead Portfolio Manager for STS Partners Fund, Ski Time Square Ltd. (offshore feeder fund), and a Separately Managed MBS/ABS Account for a large institutional investor. As of June 1, 2013, DPRC’s assets surpassed $1 billion. Michael works closely with Brad Craig, Sara’s brother, who is the Chief Operating Officer of DPRC. Michael, as well as the DPRC staff, takes full advantage of their slope-side location to ski, hike and bike.

Wendy is the Controller at Deer Park Road. Prior to joining Deer Park Road, she owned and operated a financial and tax accounting company in Steamboat. She graduated from Washington State University with a Masters in Accounting with an emphasis on tax. Wendy is a Certified Public Accountant and Certified Financial Planner in Colorado. Wendy moved to Steamboat with her husband, Chris, in 1992 and they have a daughter. She is a dedicated mom, skier and mountain biker. Wendy enjoys traveling the world with her family.
In addition to managing the day-to-day business operations of CSFF, Kris monitors the progress and implementation of grants, and administers and processes all aspects of the YAP funding cycles. She also acts as a Program Officer and sits on the YAP Grant Review Committee. Kris prepares written and other necessary materials for the Foundation including policy documents, articles, and ad copy, as well as oversees development of the newsletter and website. Kris takes all Foundation meeting and site visit notes, serves on various community committees on behalf of CSFF, and attends CSFF and other community events. Kris joined CSFF in August of 2011. She has a diverse background as a paralegal, business manager and compliance officer. Apart from work, Kris enjoys trail running, skate skiing, yoga, gardening, and other outdoor activities.
Angie Pleshe serves as CSFF’s Communications & Research and Program Officer. Angie works behind the scenes with YAP grantees to enhance communications, foster relationship building, and encourage strategic thinking regarding impact. She also assists in managing CSFF messaging, organizes foundation events, and conducts research regarding youth advocacy. In addition, Angie serves as a YAP Program Officer. She has lived in Steamboat Springs since 1999 and has worked in the nonprofit/human service sector for over 18 years. She enjoys hiking, camping and skiing with her family.
